Tag Team Sisters

I thought I'd share a picture of Mignon's skills in action. For those of you that don't know that Nonny bakes amazing bread, where have you been?! She's a master, and I was so glad to have her come teach my young women how to "know dough". We made Bread in a Bag, using Ziplocks and hand power instead of mixers. The girls loved it, and their braided loaves turned out so beautiful.

We also made a special loaf to be used for the sacrament on Sunday. While the bread was rising and baking, I gave a lesson on the importance of Sacrament Meeting, and how to prepare for it. I pulled my lesson from the conference talk given by Elder Oaks. For some reason I was super nervous to give this lesson, but an hour beforehand, Greg let me sound off to him, and it all came together. I have to hand it to Greg...he's an excellent 3rd counselor.

Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks again, Mignon, for all your preparation and expertise. It was really a lot of fun. I loved it!

(PS- Mignon, will you post your recipes on the recipe site...or can I? I'll give you the credit for them.)

  2. Mignon's a pro when it comes to teaching about bread, canning, food storage, etc. Looks like a fun night!! I totally loved doing things like that when I was in Young Women's. It's so awesome to learn basic skills like that, which aren't always taught to girls now days. The loaves turned out beautiful too. How thrilling to be a part and to see how the girls can get so excited about that. Way to go Mignon and Melinda!! You guys ROCK!! I'm totally impressed. Wish I lived closer and could call on some tag teaming myself!!

  3. I had a blast with Melinda and her girls. And not to sound cheesy, but I was totally tearing up during Melinda's lesson. It was the best I've heard on the sacrament--the spirit was strong and she was a president getting it done. She reminded me of Gwen. I love all my sisters and sisters-in-laws. Most of you are way better cooks than me and I didn't even see the recipe site until now. I'm exited! Go ahead and post the recipes Melinda because I won't have a lot of computer time this week. Hope you all have a great week!
