Bryant...

Hello everyone!
I finally replaced our computer so I'm plugged into the world again. I've been hearing about this family blog and thought I'd check it out. Seems like a pretty useful tool for the family. I'll start updating the calender. Just so you all know, my new email address is bryantquigley@gmail.com. Jenny is still using quigs22@hotmail.com for now. I don't have any of your email addresses so please send me an email and I'll make a family distribution list.
Between work, church, & school, things have gotten pretty busy around here. I like the idea of being able to jump online to check out how the fam is doing. Thanks for the pictures!
Love you all,
Bryant

Family Fund

Happy Holidays!
This is a friendly reminder to remember the family fund! Reese, Morgan, and the parents have paid their 2007 tabs. For the rest of us, if we can't pay now, let's put it into our financial plans for the new year! Call me if you have questions on your account.
Love,
Non

Thanksgiving in Island Park

The swans trumpeted, the fish jumped, and the snow fell. Thanksgiving in Island Park was amazing. The only thing that could have made it better would have been having more of you all there. Being at the cabin definitely eased our disappointment of not being able to be in California.

We woke up to snow Tuesday morning (day of our Thanksgiving) and the boys went bananas when they realized we could go out and play in it.

Brenden loved getting in on the snow throwing and only grimaced for a minute when Bethany got a little snow on his face. He told her off (of course) but was smiling and laughing again right away.

Up the road at Big Springs the snow was deeper. The fish under the bridge there are FAT and greedy. They loved the pancake/cat food lunch we brought them. (What a combo eh? Don't worry our Thanksgiving feast was much much better.) The falling snow made for beautiful pictures. I'll post more of my favorites on my site. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving too!

some after t-day thoughts from pops

Yo Fam…

Recently, the Eagles re-landed in the most unexpected spot – Wal-Mart – yes indeed. Turns out that one of the best rock bands on the planet inked an exclusive contract with Wally World to distribute their newest double CD set. Here’s my spin on it.

You all know that Mom, I and Unca Randy are huge Eagles fans. We went into mourning when they broke up many years ago due to internal squabbling and not getting along. Their exact quoted answer about the timing of getting back together was “when hell freezes over”.

Well, the fan base rejoiced with their new release a few years back entitled “Hell Freezes Over”. We even went to see them live on their reunion tour. After so many years apart doing solo gigs, the Eagles resumed without a hiccup. Several years have passed since then which brings us current to the Wal-Mart release of a few weeks ago.

SBJ and I were presented with a copy of the newest “Long Road from Eden” by my bro. Way cool! We finally got a moment last Saturday while traveling to Boise for Dylan and Gaven’s Hogwarts B-day breakfast to listen to it together. Put it in at the Flying J onramp and finished while passing the Stage Stop exit…a double CD delight of vintage Eagles sound.

I couldn’t refrain from tearing up a time or two on that trip. Those boys still got it! Tight harmonies, crisp full sounds, strong and vibrant vocal leads, impeccable guitar licks, rich rhythms within the “sweet and easy feelings” the band is known for, poetic word placement complete with punchy power welcoming us back to the ‘otel California. A double WOW delight, all for $11.99. I haven’t enjoyed listening to the stereo this much since Gwen and Law gave me “The Best of Police” double CD (which is awesome by the way) for my last B-day!

You kids grew up listening to the older Eagles tunes. I encourage you to enter the brave new world of retro rockers and soar with the Eagles. “Take it to the limit one more time" if you get a chance. Surely brought back some pleasant memories for me and Mom – like a new look at our old, then young - now grown up friends…you kids. Enjoy!

Counting Blessings @ Thanksgiving Time

My heart is full of Thanks!
First, for my wonderful eternal companion whom I keep thinking that I couldn't love any more, but cherish greater each passing day! (Thank goodness we have an eternity to get things figured out!) He has always been so unselfish; hard working to take care of us (which hasn't been an easy task!) along with all of the neighbors, employees, and friends in the community; willing to take time with the family even when he was in demanding church leadership or heavily involved with community service...which has always been the case!; an amazing support to me in my opportunities to serve; always encouraging me to learn new things and be involved outside the home; has never criticized me and has always championed all that I do; the list could go on forever! What a great companion the Lord gave me! I love you Quiggy!!!
Second, for our dear wonderful valiant children! We are both most grateful! We cherish you and all of the good things that we learn from you. You truly amaze us! You are so strong; hard-working; great parents; friends to each other; taking good care of your sweethearts; serving where and when the Lord asks you to; productive homemakers and providers; always learning and growing and helping your parents try to keep up; the list could go on and on with you as well!!! For you we pray three times a day because you are at a place where the adversary works the hardest in his efforts to destroy the family! Keep up the good work!!!
Third, of course, are those dear sweet grand children!!! Wow! How blessed we are! They are so beautiful, handsome, intelligent, trusting, obedient, talented....to name just a few things. They truly bring us great joy!!! And are a huge credit to their parents!
Fourth, is a profound gratitude for our parents! They are the reason we are who we are; their sacrifice has been great; and they are an example of enduring well to the end. We honor them!
For these four things I am most grateful! Indeed, I am very thankful to live at this time on the earth when we can communicate daily in so many ways with each other. It's almost as if we are still all under the same roof when we take advantage of the great technological mediums. I am so thankful to live in this great country. Even with all of it's problems, it is still the greatest country on the earth! I am so thankful for the gospel....what a blessing to have the knowledge that it has given us in raising our children, learning and growing personally, and in developing our relationships with each other and those around us.
Yes, I'm am definitely counting my blessings!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! With much love, Mom Thank You
